On Holy Saturday, the DDSG will resume tourist excursion traffic in the direction of the Wachau. The MS Dürnstein, which has a sun deck of around 300 square meters, is used. This should offer an interesting view of the landscape and sights.
"In the high season, several trips are offered daily, making it easy to explore the beautiful and dreamy places of Dürnstein or Spitz," says DDSG Blue Danube Managing Director Wolfgang Fischer. "There is hardly any place where the combination of landscape and cuisine works as harmoniously as on board a Wachau ship," adds DDSG Blue Danube Managing Director Wolfgang Hanreich.
With the MS Wachau, a second ship is already in daily scheduled service in the first days of May. The excursion boats, which are equipped with air conditioning and WiFi, leave Melk and Krems three times a day in the high season, with stopovers in Dürnstein, Spitz and Emmersdorf.
In addition to the sights passing by, the culinary offer on board is also in the foreground of a boat trip through the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Patrick Fürst, the renowned ship restaurateur Patrick Fürst, who is known for his creativity, flexibility and connection with the local cuisine, prefers regional and seasonal products. You can convince yourself of the dishes freshly prepared on the ship every Sunday at the traditional Wachau brunch, which kicks off on April 17.4th. as "Easter brunch" also gets a special theme
The cost of the big Wachau boat trip is 37,50 euros (return). The costs for the small Wachau boat trip are 27,50 euros each (Krems-Spitz or Melk-Spitz and back) and 20,50 euros (Krems-Dürnstein and back).
