Delta flight from Rome to Atlanta has to make an emergency landing in Dublin

A Delta Air Lines flight, DL215, from Rome-Fiumicino to Atlanta, operated by an Airbus A350-900, was forced to make an unscheduled landing at Dublin Airport this Sunday due to a medical emergency on board the aircraft, which was scheduled to fly nonstop across the Atlantic.

The aircraft changed course over the southwest coast of Ireland and headed for Dublin. Upon arrival, the crew initially attempted a landing on runway 28L, but was forced to abort due to adverse wind conditions, presumably a tailwind, and subsequently made a safe landing on runway 10L. The airport fire department was on standby and met the aircraft after landing.

As confirmed, the medical emergency was the primary reason for the diversion. The flight is expected to continue its transatlantic journey from Dublin at 14:00 PM local time. The affected person on board received medical assistance after landing.
