The US airline Delta and the music streaming service Spotify will be working together in the future. To do this, the online company compiles its own playlists for passengers.
The offer is to be rolled out in September 2021 and gradually expanded to the entire fleet. The Boeing 717 machine type intended for phasing out and aircraft operated by subcontractors will not receive this update.
The Spotify playlists should be able to be selected via the screen of the in-flight entertainment system. In addition, 40 selected podcast series are to be available for the launch. Incidentally, you cannot use Bluetooth headphones; passengers have to take their own wired devices with them. Alternatively, these can also be bought on board.
There is no provision for travelers to be able to use their own Spotify accounts via the IES. However, this is possible in those machines that have chargeable WiFi via smartphone, tablet or laptop.
