Deutsche Hospitality, the parent company of the Steigenberger and Intercity hotels, will open the first hotel in Uzbekistan in the first quarter of 2023. This will be located in the capital Tashkent and will be operated under the Intercity brand.
The group of companies is currently active almost around the globe under the brands Steigenberger, Intercity, Maxx, Jazz in the City and Zleep. Until now, Uzbekistan has been a blank spot on the map. Not all hotels are operated by themselves, because they are often self-employed entrepreneurs who use a Deutsche Hospitality brand as part of a franchise agreement. This route is also followed in Tashkent.
“We are delighted to be collaborating with Globus Hotels and Valor Hospitality on this great project. We believe that the strategic location of Tashkent is perfectly suited for the first intercity hotel in Uzbekistan,” says Oliver Bonke, CEO Deutsche Hospitality.
The new home, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2023, will be located minutes from Tashkent Airport. The business centers and train stations should also be quickly accessible. It will be located in Mirabad and will offer 122 rooms, a spa area, a fitness center and two restaurants, among other things.
