At Lufthansa Technik, around 800 jobs are in acute danger, because the Kranich subsidiary intends to close six line maintenance stations in Germany.
According to a report by the industry portal Aero.de, the workforce at other airports is to be reduced. The line operations in Düsseldorf, Hanover, Bremen, Hamburg, Leipzig and Frankfurt North are threatened by the closure. A spokesman confirmed the report from Aero.de. The board of directors decided to close it on December 31, 2021.
At the branches in Berlin-Brandenburg, Cologne / Bonn, Munich, Stuttgart and Frankfurt Süd there are to be reductions in the area of line maintenance. The company confirmed that "jobs will be greatly reduced". According to Lufthansa Technik, a total of 800 jobs are to be cut across Germany.
