DHL is discontinuing drone projects without replacement

Advertising

Did you get your online order quickly delivered by DHL by drone? That will not happen in the foreseeable future, because the subsidiary of Deutsche Post announced that the development of the parcel copter was stopped some time ago.

A spokesman confirmed a corresponding media report from Welt am Sonntag, which also contained that a cooperation for the delivery of medicines in Tanzania was also discontinued. The cooperation with the drone manufacturer Wingcopter was ended.

Deutsche Post-DHL also emphasizes that it has repeatedly pointed out that the regular use of drones is not planned in Germany and that no new pilot projects will be tackled. Apparently, the results of the first tests did not convince the boardroom of the logistics group.
