The logistics group DHL Express has increased an existing large order by six more Boeing 777F. A total of 28 aircraft of this type are awaiting delivery.
According to Geoff Kehr, Senior Vice President, Global Air Fleet Management, the new additions will primarily be used to connect the hubs of Leipzig/Halle, Cincinnati and Hong Kong. Furthermore, the Boeing 777F will also be used on routes with particularly high volumes.
DHL currently has five aircraft of this type operated by Kalitta Air. Atlas Air flies eight B777Fs for DHL and one more is registered with DHL Air. AeroLogic, a joint venture between Deutsche Post-DHL and Lufthansa, has 20 ships managed.
