The new drone license in Austria was well received and met with great interest. Since it was launched, 7.500 registrations and 11.000 drone licenses have been filed.

“With the new regulation, we have set a milestone and ensured more safety in Austrian airspace. Flying with drones is now easier and cheaper. The easier access is also noticeable in the numerous registrations and drone driving licenses issued. I am delighted that 11.000 drone pilots are already using the offer and are contributing to safe airspace with their proof of competence, ”said State Secretary for Aviation Magnus Brunner.

For drone operators, the path to safe flying has started with registration since December 31.12.2020, XNUMX dronespace.at. A one-time registration is sufficient, the costs for this amount to € 31,20 (incl. VAT), the assigned number plate must be affixed to all aircraft. Registration is paid for by credit card or debit card and is valid immediately. Registration must be renewed after three years. The drones must also be insured.
