The low-cost airline Wizz Air is currently looking for First Officers who have several years of professional experience and can imagine flying as a captain for the low-cost airline. A so-called "Direct Entry Captain Program" has been set up for this purpose.

The program is designed for Airbus-experienced pilots who will complete an extensive Command Upgrade program before being deployed as a Captain across the Wizz Air network. The training program is funded by Wizz Air to support and encourage future captains in their chosen career path. The candidates are trained for about 6 months and, after successfully completing the training, are employed as captains at Wizz Air. The program also includes a deposit totaling EUR 10.000 as part of the Direct Entry Command Program deposit charged, resulting in a salary reduction of EUR 500/month for 20 months upon successful completion of the course.
