Disney Cruise Line announces the purchase of another ship. This is already partially completed and will be produced in Wismar. Previously this was known under the name "Global Dream".

Manufacturer is the German Meyer shipyard. The ship will be renamed, revamped in some areas under the direction of the Walt Disney Imagineers, and is scheduled to set sail in 2025. The new ship, which will be based outside the United States, will offer innovative Disney experiences along with the unique entertainment, world-class dining and legendary guest service that defines Disney Cruise Line. The ship's exterior will feature the fleet's signature Mickey Mouse-inspired colors and will be complemented with the signature red smokestacks.

Construction will be carried out on the site of the former MV Werften in Wismar, northern Germany, under the management of Papenburg Meyer Werft, which has already built the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish.

“Our cruise lines give us a unique opportunity to bring the magic of Disney to fans, wherever they are. And with this ship, Disney Cruise Line vacations will be made accessible to more families than ever before,” said Josh D'Amaro, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products.
