The German tour operator Tropo, a subsidiary of the Dnata Travel Group, is closing. Business operations will cease at the end of the year. It is a voluntary liquidation, as the sole shareholder no longer wants to continue the company.

“Due to the unprecedented effects of the pandemic on the travel industry and due to changes in preferences and demand on the customer side, we had to restructure our tour operator business and realign it to meet needs. The decision to discontinue tropo was not an easy one and was the result of a thorough business review and careful consideration of various commercial and strategic factors. I would like to thank the managing director Thomas Meyer and all tropo employees for their hard work and dedication over the past two years, ”explains Steve Allen, CEO Dnata Travel Group.

In a press release, Dnata declares that all bookings with a departure date will remain valid and should be carried out until December 31, 2020. All trips from January 1, 2021 will be canceled. Affected customers should get their down payments repaid. Sales under the Tropo brand have also already been discontinued.
