The main travel season at Dortmund Airport starts with the last day of school on Friday. There are 54 destinations in 24 countries to choose from in the summer flight schedule - compared to the number of destinations in the previous record year 2019, this is an increase of around 30 percent.

Classic summer destinations such as Mallorca, Split and Thessaloniki are expected to be just as popular as in previous years. These popular classics are supplemented by the holiday destination of Antalya – the Turkish holiday destination on the Mediterranean is again offered by SunExpress from Dortmund. The travel destination Heviz (Balaton), which can be reached with Wizz Air, is brand new in the flight schedule. Another new addition to the summer timetable is Rome. The Hungarian low-cost airline will connect the Italian capital with Dortmund from September.

Overall, Dortmund Airport is expecting around 380.000 passengers during the upcoming holidays, which roughly corresponds to the pre-crisis level. In the record year of 2019, around 385.000 passengers used the airport.

Airport asks for timely arrival

Due to the increased number of passengers, Dortmund Airport recommends that all passengers be at the airport 2,5 hours before departure. Possible traffic jams or detours due to construction work along the A40/B1, as well as the route from the car park to the terminal, should be taken into account when you arrive. Passengers arriving by car have online booking system of the airport the possibility to reserve a parking space. Bringers and collectors can use the so-called Kiss & Fly zone directly in front of the terminal for quick loading and unloading. Information on this can also be found on the Airport website .
