Enabling sick children to fly free of charge within Germany – this is the aim of the non-profit organization Flying Hope eV. Dortmund Airport finds it worthy of support and will waive the take-off and landing fees for the association from now on.

“The concern of the club deserves our fullest respect. It's nice to see that so many people volunteer for the affected children and their families. Like many other airports and airfields, we too would like to do our part," says airport boss Ludger van Bebber. In addition to transport to hospices, Flying Hope organizes flights for medical treatment or spa and holiday stays. Adventure and sightseeing flights are also possible to support sick children and their families or to make them happy.

The association was brought into being in 2010 with the founding of a voluntary pilot network. It is dedicated to children who need help because of their physical, mental or emotional state.
