Dortmund Airport is planning to build two more Siko lanes in the eastern part of the terminal. This is to be referred to as "Control Point C" and enables check-in at busy departure times. The supervisory board has already given the green light for the project.
The third passenger checkpoint on the departure level (level 1) in the Dortmund Airport terminal will be built in the area of today's East Bar and in parts of the federal police station behind it. The conversion measures will start at the end of 2022 - completion is planned for summer 2023.
“The additional control lanes allow us to optimize and speed up the security check processes. Our passengers will therefore benefit from shorter waiting times in front of the checkpoints and improved travel comfort," says Managing Director Ludger van Bebber.
The Supervisory Board also received confirmation of the 2021 annual financial statements of minus 15,6 million euros from the auditing company PricewaterhouseCoopers GmbH on Friday. . The annual result, which continues to be shaped by the corona pandemic, improved by 2020 million euros compared to 6,2. In the second year of the corona pandemic, around 1,7 million passengers used Dortmund Airport for their journey (up 39 percent).
