Drones: Wingcopter researches hydrogen propulsion

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The drone developer Wingcopter and the Center for Applied Aviation Research GmbH have joined forces and want to research the potential for hydrogen drives together.

The plan is that by converting to hydrogen, the battery-powered drones of the Wingcopter 198 model will not only continue to fly emission-free in the future, but will also become even more powerful. Due to the additional lift of the wings and its aerodynamic design, the Wingcopter already achieves greater ranges and speeds than the models of most competitors. However, hydrogen propulsion could ensure even longer flight times and thus enable correspondingly greater distances for various delivery applications.
