From this summer, passengers can fly directly to Venice from Dortmund with Eurowings.

The popular holiday destination was last offered from Dortmund Airport in 2004. Now the Lufthansa subsidiary offers direct flights to the Italian city twice a week from June 4th to October 29th. Every Wednesday and Saturday, travelers can head south in an Airbus A320. The flights can already be booked now. “We are excited about the new destination. It complements our varied offer in the summer season for our passengers,” says airport boss Ludger van Bebber.

Wizz Air also announced a new route from Dortmund. From June 16, the Hungarian low-cost airline will fly twice a week from Dortmund to Héviz in the west of the country in the immediate vicinity of the well-known Lake Balaton – always on Thursdays and Sundays. Wizz Air currently operates a fleet of 149 Airbus A320, A321, A320neo and A321neo aircraft with an average age of five years.
