The United Arab Emirates has abolished the requirement to wear masks in public indoor spaces. This also ends the obligation to wear mouth and nose protection on flights to Dubai and in the emirate's airport buildings. The airlines Emirates, Flydubai and Etihad have already confirmed that masks are no longer required on board their planes.

After two and a half years, Gulf Airlines passengers no longer have to wear masks on board. As Emirates announces on its website, for example, wearing mouth and nose protection on flights to the United Arab Emirates is now only voluntary. When traveling to other countries from Dubai, however, the regulations applicable there are taken into account, which means that a mask requirement in the destination country is then also enforced on board Emirates flights. For flights to Germany, however, this will no longer be relevant from the coming weekend: the mask requirement on board aircraft in the Federal Republic will expire on September 30th. This is reported by Check24.
