Due to increasing demand: Delta wants to hire 1000 pilots

The US airline is planning a large-scale increase in staff. More than 1000 pilots are to be hired by next summer - but only those who have been vaccinated.

The Reuters news agency relies on an internal memo that is doing the rounds in the company. Delta would be confident about the future. The volume of recreational travel in the United States is expected to return to pre-pandemic levels this month. The group also expects a significant increase in business travel. Therefore you need at least 1000 new pilots.

But there is one catch. Because the documents of unvaccinated applicants end up in the paper garbage at the airline. The airline will require corona vaccinations for new hires in the USA in the future. This decision is necessary in order not to endanger the health of customers and employees. Previous employees, however, can still decide freely whether they want to receive the vaccine. So far, more than 60 percent have done it.
