The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer wants E195-E2 aircraft to be allowed to take off and land at London City Airport in the future. Great potential is seen for this pattern at the British capital's inner-city airport.

For this reason, a test flight was carried out last week. At the same time, this means that the first type landing was carried out at London City Airport in this context. Embraer President Arjan Meijer expects that the necessary certification will be obtained by the end of 2022.

For use at London City Airport, the manager argues, among other things, that this model should be 65 percent quieter than comparable aircraft. In order to be allowed to head for the inner-city airport, a special steep approach permit is required. Embraer is currently in the middle of the approval process.
