Germany's largest airport, Frankfurt am Main, assumes that there could be longer waiting times at security checks and the issue of luggage during the upcoming Easter holidays in 2023. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport in good time or allow enough buffer time.

Forecasts for the airport managed by Fraport see around 185.000 passengers and 1.100 take-offs and landings per day. This would be a challenge for the airport and the local service providers. It is pointed out that the first wave of travel in the current year has been well prepared.

Nevertheless, it cannot be ruled out that passengers will have to be prepared for longer waiting times at peak times when there is heavy travel. This will primarily affect the security checks and the handing over of luggage. Background: Frankfurt Airport and the service providers working on site continue to have an acute shortage of staff. However, the number of travelers is steadily increasing and a large rush is expected, especially at the beginning of the Easter holidays in 2023.
