Between April 14 and 17, 2022, the German regional airport of Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden counted around 17.000 passengers traveling on scheduled and charter flights. 100 take-offs and landings were carried out.

The airport explains, among other things, that the handling could be handled without any problems. An increased crowd was expected, but it is said that there was no chaos. With regard to the number of passengers, it was even higher than the comparable period from 2019.

"We started early on to adapt to the time after Corona and to integrate the changed conditions into our processes. All relevant processes were analyzed and adapted to the new conditions – such as greater distances between passengers and an increased number of document checks. As a result, changes were implemented at check-in, in routing and in the gate area. These measures have now paid off,” says Eric Blechschmidt, Head of Air Traffic at FKB.
