The German tour operator Alltours sees the Easter holidays, which around 40.000 Germans have spent on Mallorca, as positive. Contrary to the claims of various politicians, there has not been a sharp increase in the number of infections caused by those returning from traveling.
The tour operator is therefore of the opinion that the “dress rehearsal” for summer 2021 was a success. They even had around 10.000 vacationers around Easter. "The worries of the politicians are unfounded," says Alltours owner Willi Verhuven. “Neither German vacationers brought Corona to Mallorca, nor did people returning to Germany. The likelihood of contracting the virus in Mallorca is low. The seven-day incidence on the island fell from 32 to 27 over Easter and has remained stable for the past few days. In comparison, the incidence in Germany has been almost consistently over 120 since the end of March. No wonder that many guests said they felt safer on Mallorca than in Germany. "
Alltours advocates compulsory testing for outward and return travelers, as it creates additional security. The feared queues at the test stations did not exist. For those returning home, the staff member had organized tests in their own Allsun hotels, where guests could be tested for 25 euros. Verhuven: "Everything went smoothly here." The Allsun hotels remain open and bookings for Mallorca are still possible.
