European low-cost carrier EasyJet is expanding its flight offerings from Austria for the upcoming winter season. Starting November 19, 2026, the airline will introduce a new seasonal direct connection between Vienna Airport and Manchester Airport into its winter flight schedule.
The route is served twice a week, with flights scheduled for Mondays and Fridays. With this schedule, the airline is specifically targeting weekend and city breaks, enabling travelers from both regions to enjoy short trips without time-consuming layovers.
The introduction of the new route is aimed at specifically targeting seasonal winter demand in city and event tourism. The Austrian capital, Vienna, is a particularly popular destination for the British market during the winter months due to its traditional Christmas markets and cultural offerings. Conversely, the connection provides travelers from the Vienna area with direct access to the metropolitan region in northwest England, which has gained importance as an economic and cultural center. One-way fares for the new route start at €52,49.
With the addition of Manchester, Easyjet's portfolio from Vienna Airport will comprise a total of five destinations in the 2026/27 winter flight schedule. In addition to the Austrian capital, the airline traditionally also serves Innsbruck and Salzburg airports, which benefit significantly from British winter sports tourism in the Austrian Alps. By combining all three Austrian locations, the airline offers a total of 16 direct flights to and from Austria during the winter season, strengthening the international connections of the local tourism sector.
