Easyjet is doing it again: Due to the increasing number of travel warnings and quarantine rules, the low-cost airline is reducing its route offer by the end of the month. The announced 40 percent of the pre-corona level is just a thing of the past.

In times of Corona, the ailing airlines have to operate intelligently in order to survive this crisis lightly. The low cost carrier therefore focuses on those routes that make a positive contribution to profit. Because of the state restrictions, which are continuously being expanded across Europe, the trust of customers and thus the demand is falling, they see themselves being forced to take the affected routes out of the program, like travelnews.ch reported.

While the summer months were still harmless - according to the circumstances - more and more countries are currently being placed on the so-called “red list” and declared risk areas. The reason for this is the rapidly increasing number of infections. The British and German authorities are warning against traveling to Spain, including the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands, due to the increased number of infections. Commenting on the constantly changing quarantine rules, Johan Lundgren, CEO of Easyjett says: "We know that our customers are just as frustrated with the unpredictable travel and quarantine restrictions as we are."
