Low-cost airline Easyjet will add 56 additional Airbus A320neos to its fleet. Existing options have been converted into fixed orders, the low coster announced on Tuesday.
The new additions are primarily intended to replace models in the A320ceo series. It was also agreed with Airbus that 18 of these should be used on the A321neo. The delivery of the latest order should take place between 2026 and 2029.
The low-cost airline did not provide any information on the purchase price, but indicated that the manufacturer had received attractive discounts. It is still unclear how major shareholder Stelios Haji-Ioannou will react to the latest large order. In the past he resisted new purchases and even called for the cancellation of orders.
