The low-cost airline Easyjet is withdrawing from Ljubljana, Slovenia, effective October 23, 2020. The route to London-Gatwick is discontinued. The company states that this is related to the fact that the UK has removed the country from the list of “safe states”. The result: quarantine. A comeback is in prospect, however.
Easyjet significantly reduced its presence at Ljubljana Airport due to the corona pandemic. The routes to Berlin and London-Stansted have already been discontinued. A possible resumption is currently uncertain. Although the start of a connection to London-Luton has been announced for December 11, 2020 and Gatwick can also be booked from December 17, 2020, it is currently questionable whether this will happen.
Some carriers have withdrawn from Ljubljana in the last few weeks and months, including Wizzair and Transavia. With the at least temporary suspension of the Easyjet flights, the fact arises that for the first time in many years no low-cost airline will operate from Slovenia at all.
