The holiday airline Edelweiss is currently examining whether the Airbus A350 could possibly be included in the fleet. A company spokesman confirms this, but emphasizes to Aviation.Direct that no decision has yet been made.

The “European Airfleets” portal, which is usually well informed when it comes to the Lufthansa Group fleet, already lists several Airbus A350-900s that are said to be destined for Edelweiss Air. In Switzerland, based on the publication mentioned, several media speculate that the holiday airline could soon get long-haul jets of this type.

When asked, a spokesman told Aviation.Direct: “We are currently planning to replace our long-haul fleet with a more modern and efficient aircraft type. We are examining various options, with our efforts going towards the Airbus A350. This aircraft type would make sense for us as we are already an Airbus operator and we would continue to benefit from our pilots being able to fly both long and short haul. No decision has been made at this point."
