The newly established airline Red Sea Airlines has received its AOC and operating license from the Egyptian authorities. The carrier has already operated the first charter flight. This was flown within Egypt on behalf of a partner.

The young airline is linked to a local tour operator and starts explicitly as a charter provider. At least for the time being, they do not want to offer scheduled flights on their own account, but rather sell the capacity primarily to tour operators. With the help of the shareholder Selfie Travel, they mainly want to transport tourists to Egypt.

Red Sea Airlines' first aircraft is a Boeing 737-800, registration SU-RSB. This has the serial number 29369 and was originally used by Air Transat. The company expects to be able to take delivery of a structural machine in April 2023. It is currently planned that two aircraft will be flown in the 2023 summer flight schedule, but one can imagine fleeting more Boeing 737-800s if the order situation is right.
