Bulgaria has tightened the entry requirements for people coming from so-called red zones. Vaccinated and convalescent patients must also present a negative PCR test, which must not be older than 72 hours. The documents are only accepted in the form of EU certificates.

Germany and other EU countries are on the Bulgarian red list due to the Omikron variant. All persons aged 12 and over must now present both a negative PCR test and proof of vaccination or recovery. If only one of the requirements is not met, a ten-day quarantine must be started.

There are exceptions for children under the age of 12 as well as crews and bus and truck drivers. These still do not require any evidence. For persons with Bulgarian residence, citizenship or residence permit, there is the possibility that the PCR test can only be carried out in Bulgaria. However, you have to enter a ten-day quarantine, which can be ended after a negative PCR result.

However, residents must also provide evidence of vaccination, recovery or a PCR test upon entry. If you only have a vaccination or recovery or a PCR test, you have to enter a quarantine from which you can free yourself. This does not apply to tourists. 2G-plus must meet these requirements.
