In the past few days, German politics has caused a lot of confusion with a zigzag course. It has now been officially confirmed that all passengers entering Germany by air must present a negative Covid-28 result from March 2021, 0, midnight. This also applies expressly if you come from non-risk areas, according to the German Ministry of Health.

The airlines are instructed to check the presence of an entry registration and negative test at the latest when boarding. Those who cannot show this may not be promoted. First and foremost, this affects Mallorca holidaymakers, because coming from most countries there has been an obligation to present a negative Covid finding for several months anyway.

The costs for the test are to be borne by yourself. However, in many countries, including Austria, this can be done free of charge in pharmacies, for example. According to the Robert Koch Institute, both PCR and antigen findings are recognized. The test must not have been taken more than 48 hours ago at the time of entry. The forced quarantine when entering from high-risk, high-incidence and virus variant areas will continue to exist. The only new thing is that a general obligation to submit negative findings has been introduced for everyone - including those coming from non-risk areas.

Most recently, the German federal government even checked one Ban on vacation trips abroad. It would be difficult to reconcile this with the Basic Law. Apparently, for this reason, the decision was made in favor of the general compulsory test. In most European countries, private Covid examinations are now easily accessible.
