Greece will shortly accept not only vaccination and recovery certificates, but also results from rapid antigen tests upon entry. Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis announced this, but has not yet given an exact date.

In any case, the acceptance of the rapid test results should begin by July 1, 2021 at the latest. This should make it easier for holidaymakers to enter Greece. Furthermore, PCR results as well as vaccination and recovery certificates are recognized. In some EU countries, PCR tests are rather complicated and expensive to access.

The Greek Ministry of Health has already spoken out in favor of the recognition of rapid antigen tests on entry. Tourism Minister Theoharis also stated that in some countries it is complicated and especially expensive to get PCR tests, but that rapid antigen tests are often even offered free of charge. In the next few days, the Ministry of Health wants to announce the exact start date for the acceptance of antigen findings upon entry.
