Effective May 1, 2022, Malaysia is relaxing entry requirements for fully vaccinated individuals. The mandatory test practiced so far is no longer applicable for vaccinated people and their accompanying children under the age of twelve.
What is also new is that no travel insurance that covers Covid-19 diseases has to be proven. Unvaccinated people have been able to enter Malaysia since April 1, 2022, but they still have to show a negative PCR result. A rapid antigen test must be completed immediately upon arrival. This group of people must continue to observe a five-day quarantine.
As of May 1, 2022, Malaysia will also relax the mask requirement practiced domestically. Mouth and nose only have to be covered indoors and on public transport. In concrete terms, this means that wearing a mask is still mandatory in airport terminals and on board aircraft.
