From June 20, 2022, you no longer have to present a negative corona test when entering New Zealand. The government is dropping the previous regulation a month earlier than originally announced.

Minister Ayesha Verrall said that the previous strategy had proven to be successful and that the New Zealand government felt it was safe to lift the testing requirements sooner. What remains unchanged, however, is that rapid antigen tests must be carried out one day after arrival and on the fifth day of your stay. These are so-called self-tests.

Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, New Zealand has had particularly strict entry regulations, some of which have even prevented its own citizens from entering the state. A court declared the latter circumstance to be illegal. The country has been gradually opening up again for a few months. Since the beginning of May 2022, tourists from a total of 60 countries, including Austria, Germany and Switzerland, have been allowed to enter the country again. From July 31, 2022, they want to open up completely again. According to the current state of information, it is still required that proof be provided that you are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
