When entering Spain, a change in the field of rapid antigen tests must be taken into account with immediate effect. These are only recognized for a maximum of 24 hours after the smear test. Nucleic acid amplification tests are not affected.
In concrete terms, this means that people who can prove neither vaccination nor recovery can only use rapid test results for 24 hours from the swab to enter Spain.
Reports based on the PCR, LAMP or TMA methods are still valid for 72 hours. Here, too, it is not the time when the findings or the certificate were issued that is decisive, but the time when the swab was taken.
What remains unchanged is that Spain still requires the completion of an online form. The QR code must be presented at any entry check. The central government has instructed the airlines by means of a notam that the completeness of the corona documents must be checked at the latest when boarding. Otherwise, boarding can be denied, which has happened in the past caused a stir.
