El Al converts B777 into Preighter

The airline El Al is converting passenger planes into makeshift freighters in order to be able to fly relief supplies to Israel. Initially, a Boeing 777 was transformed into a so-called preighter by removing the seats.

A Boeing 737 that was recently added to the fleet was also converted into a makeshift freighter. The plane flies unspecified goods from Europe to Israel twice a day. The company justifies the move by saying that demand for passenger flights has collapsed to non-existent levels. At the same time, there is high demand in the freight sector.
