Eleven routes: Ryanair enters domestic business in Morocco

The low-cost airline Ryanair will also offer domestic flights in Morocco in the future. The carrier will open another base in the African country. The carrier also intends to significantly expand international traffic between Europe and Morocco. 

It was recently announced that the Irish low-cost group has applied to the local authorities for approval for domestic flights. This is required because you are not a local carrier. Ryanair has received the green light for the project from the Kingdom of Morocco and has now been granted the start of eleven routes within the country. For the first time in the company's long history, the low-cost airline will offer domestic flights on the African continent.  

In the 2024 summer flight schedule, 14 Ryanair Group aircraft will be stationed in Morocco. These are spread across the following airports: two in Tangier, two in Agadir, three in Frez and seven in Marrakesh. The company will add a total of 35 additional routes, eleven of which are domestic, expanding the offering to 175 routes. Morocco will have 12 airports in its route network in the future. Beni Mellal and Errachidia are new.

Ryanair is proud to announce a major $2024 million investment in Morocco for summer 1,4, carrying more than 5 million passengers to/from and within the Kingdom of Morocco on our largest summer schedule. As part of this record summer 2024 schedule, Ryanair will operate over 175 routes and introduce 35 new routes, including 11 domestic routes at affordable fares that will boost tourism and connectivity within the Kingdom with fares starting from just MAD 330 each way. Ryanair will also open a new two-aircraft base in Tangier (the fourth base in Morocco) and create over 60 high-paying aviation jobs in Tangier. This brings Ryanair’s total investment in the Kingdom to over $1,4 billion, directly employing 500 people and creating thousands of jobs in the local tourism economy,” explains Eddie Wilson, Managing Director of operating airline Ryanair DAC. “Ryanair is also looking forward to flying to two new airports this summer – Beni Mellal and Errachidia.
