The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer celebrates on the Paris International Air Show a significant milestone for its aircraft type A-29 Super Tucano. The fleet of this model, in service with 22 air forces worldwide, has exceeded 600.000 flight hours, underscoring its proven performance and reliability.
Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security, called this event a privilege. The A-29 Super Tucano is the only production light attack, armed reconnaissance, and advanced training turboprop aircraft with proven combat capability worldwide. It offers air forces a flexible and cost-effective solution for a wide range of missions, including advanced pilot training, close air support (CAS), air traffic control, air interdiction, forward air controller (JTAC) training, armed reconnaissance, border surveillance, and air escort.
The versatility of the aircraft is enhanced by the recent acquisition of the A-29N Super Tucano by Portugal. This NATOThe interoperable variant is equipped with advanced avionics and specialized communications systems to meet the Alliance's most stringent requirements. The A-29 Super Tucano features cutting-edge technology for precise target identification and weapons systems. Its robust design enables operation from unpaved runways and in challenging environments with little infrastructure.
The aircraft is also known for its low maintenance requirements and high levels of reliability, availability, and structural integrity, resulting in low life cycle costs. These characteristics make the A-29 Super Tucano an attractive choice for air forces seeking an effective multi-mission aircraft that is both combat-proven and economical to maintain.
