The Polish airline Lot is about to place a large order for regional jets. At the moment it has not yet been decided whether to order the A220 from Airbus or the E2 from Embraer.

Management member Maciej Wilk told the Fly4free portal that they would order at least 50 regional jets. Lot is already an Embraer operator, which is why the machines from this manufacturer have particularly good cards. However, the Airbus A220 is also in the running. A final decision has not yet been made at LOT.

In this context, reference should also be made to the phasing out of the DHC Dash 8-400 turboprop aircraft. According to the current state of planning, these are to be replaced by the existing Embraer 170. These, in turn, are replaced by aircraft that are to join the fleet as part of short-term dry lease contracts.

The new deliveries are to be taken over from 2024. However, Wilk makes it clear that the Dash 8-400 will not be replaced one-to-one by the Embraer 170, because depending on demand, Boeing 737s may also be used. He describes this as great flexibility. In the long term, the entire regional fleet is to be replaced.
