Emirates and Garuda Indonesia announced the launch of their codeshare partnership on Wednesday.

The codesharing will enable customers of both airlines to enjoy seamless connections on routes in North and South America, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Garuda Indonesia will place its code on Emirates-operated routes between Jakarta and Dubai, in addition to onward flights to Paris, London Heathrow, Manchester, Milan and Barcelona from Emirates' hub. Emirates will place its code on ten Garuda Indonesia-operated flights via two of its hubs, Jakarta and Denpasar. The Gulf carrier currently has codeshare agreements with 23 airlines and two train companies around the world.

“We are very excited to partner with Garuda Indonesia to offer seamless connections to customers of both airlines. The travel industry is gradually recovering and therefore this is the perfect time to start our partnership. The codeshare agreement allows us to extend our reach and gives our passengers the opportunity to fly to additional domestic destinations in Indonesia,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates Chief Commercial Officer.
