Gulf carrier Emirates Airline wants to put all Airbus A380s that are currently parked back into active scheduled service this year. At the moment, the services of a total of 34 super jumbos are not being used.

Emirates is the world's largest Airbus A380 operator. The fleet consists of 123 copies, with only 85 pieces currently in use. The remaining 34 super jumbos are parked and waiting for better times. These should come this year, because the Gulf carrier has announced the reactivation of all Airbus A380s that have not yet been used. These are to return step by step to regular service. It is currently assumed that Emirates will be back in the air with the entire superjumbo fleet by the end of 2023.

It was only recently announced that Emirates had acquired an Airbus A380. It is the A6-EDC, which was previously leased from a lessor. Built in 2008, the aircraft was purchased for the comparatively low price of $30,5 million. Previous owner was the Lessor Doric.
