The government of Belize has abolished the previously practiced 3G rule upon entry. Previously, proof of vaccination, recovery or negative test had to be presented. This applied to all entry routes.

Also new is that travel insurance that is valid on the territory of Belize is no longer required. This is only expressly recommended, since - for example - Europeans first have to pay any treatment costs themselves and can only subsequently submit a cost subsidy to their health insurance company in their home country. It is advisable to choose an insurance company that offers direct billing, at least in hospitals.

Furthermore, to enter Belize, it is necessary to be able to show a booking in an accommodation approved by the local tourist office. This can be done, for example, by presenting the confirmation or, in the case of package tours, using the tour operator's voucher. Excluded from this regulation are persons who have a place of residence in Belize.
