With effect from December 26, 2021, the Federal Republic of Germany no longer regards Austria as a so-called high-risk area. This has an impact on people who are not fully vaccinated and / or have recovered, because they will not be quarantined.

Another consequence of this is that the currently still valid travel warning is lifted. Holidaymakers who want to cancel due to the tightened entry and quarantine regulations will not be particularly helpful. However, more and more tour operators are refusing to allow free cancellations and / or rebookings due to travel warnings. The background to this is that this agent was used in a downright inflationary manner by various governments during the corona pandemic.

In future, unvaccinated people coming from Austria will be able to enter the Federal Republic of Germany without quarantine with a test certificate. Those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered do not have to go into isolation now. Another change is that entry registrations will no longer be required from December 26, 2021.
