Ireland reopened relatively late to entry for tourist purposes. In the meantime you can enter the island nation again quite easily. However, due to the corona pandemic, there are a few things to consider.

People who are from another EU member state and from Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and Great Britain can enter the country without quarantine if the 3G rule is observed. The following are recognized: negative RT-PCR test (maximum 72 hours old), evidence of recovery (maximum 180 days old) and full vaccination against Covid-19.

It is strongly recommended that the documents are presented in the form of EU certificates. However, this is not an obligation, because Ireland also recognizes the "classic paper". The prerequisite is that these are written in English or Irish. If not: then you have to bring a translation with you. No translation is required for EU certificates. The documents are checked randomly during passport control at the airports.

Electronic PLF form must be completed

It is particularly important that all persons entering Ireland or transferring at an Irish airport must fill out an electronic PLF form. It is very advisable to do this before departure, but for example at Dublin Airport QR codes can be scanned immediately before passport control and you can fill out the document on the spot using your smartphone. At the border control this must then be presented together with the passport or identity card. It doesn't matter whether on paper or on the smartphone display.

Countries not listed at the beginning of the article may be subject to quarantine. The list is extremely dynamic, which is why travelers should do their research beforehand. More information on this subject is available with this link Provided on the official website of the Irish Government.

Use only official government sites!

The official PLF form can be found with this link. Further information is available from the Irish Government provided at this link. Caution! Ireland never charges a PLF form fee! Stay away from any homepages that offer PLF services for a fee. It is a rip off.

The Irish government has the official entry requirements for the Republic of Ireland with this link provided. Please check this again before your trip to Ireland, because in times of Corona there can always be short-term changes.
