Earthquake: SunExpress flew in medical teams

The Turkish holiday airline SunExpress operated a total of 6 special flights in the period from February 9 to 2023, 89 in order to bring medical teams to the earthquake-hit areas in Syria and Turkey as quickly as possible.

With the return flights of these special flights, the airline evacuated around 6.000 people affected by the earthquake. The airline, in close coordination with local authorities, is transporting humanitarian supplies from its destinations in Turkey to the region free of charge, around 104 tons so far.

To facilitate transportation to and from the earthquake region, SunExpress is offering free domestic flights to and from Adana, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Kayseri, Malatya and Mardin between February 7th and 13th, 2023. In addition, until February 21, 2023, the airline is offering all passengers on domestic and international flights departing from these destinations an additional baggage allowance of 15 kilograms in addition to the baggage allowance included in the fare.
