Erfurt expects 140.000 passengers

Erfurt Airport had around 2022 passengers between March and the end of October 119.900. Compared to the same period last year, it was possible to increase by 93 percent. Most passengers were with 25.400 travelers in October 2022.

The Thuringian travel destination with the highest volume was Antalya on the Turkish Riviera, followed by Palma de Mallorca on the Balearic Islands and Heraklion on Crete. Nine airlines (Corendon Airlines, Corendon Europe, AlbaStar, Tailwind, Freebird, smartlynx, Sundair, European Air Charter and Croatia Airlines) served eight destinations in the summer timetable. These were Antalya, Gran Canaria, Burgas, Rhodes, Heraklion, Palma de Mallorca, Fuerteventura and Hurghada. In addition, there were special flights to Sicily, Bologna, Sardinia, Montenegro, Hungary, Croatia and Cornwall and the Channel Islands in Great Britain.

For the whole of 2022, the airport operator is now forecasting around 140.000 passengers. This again corresponds to strong growth of approx. 90 percent compared to the previous year 2021. The number of passengers had already grown by more than 160 percent in the previous year.
