Air Baltic is the first airline worldwide to issue non-fungible tokens. The digital items can now be increased to 0.05 ether OpenSea, a marketplace for digital rarities. The first edition is strictly limited - there are only 100 copies in it.
The so-called NFTs are unique cryptographic tokens that cannot be replicated or destroyed. They act as virtual collectibles and are guaranteed to be forgery-proof. The Latvian carrier has been driving digitization for several years. For example, Air Baltic is also the first airline in the world to offer payment options in cryptocurrency.
