Challenge Group's Malta branch is on the verge of receiving and AOC and operating licence. The first aircraft, a Boeing 767-3Q8, already carries the livery of the future carrier.
In November 2021 it was announced that Challenge Group in Malta wants to set up another flight operation. An application was made to the Civil Aviation Authority for an AOC and operating license. They have been together since February 2022 looking for pilots, which are to control Boeing 767 cargo planes.
According to Mavio News, official approval as an aircraft is now imminent. The current VP-BMC, shortly to be registered in Malta, was spotted in a hybrid livery at Safi Aviation Park. This Boeing 767 sports the colors of Pegas Fly and the Challenge Group title and logo. Once all official formalities have been completed, the machine is to be transferred to Liège and used commercially from there.
This Boeing 767-3Q8 has an interesting history: the aircraft was originally delivered to Trans World Airlines (TWA) in 1999. Previous operators include the little-known Bangladeshi airline GMG Airlines, which used the aircraft as the S2010-AFD back in 2.
