The Swiss air traffic control service Skyguide recorded significant growth in the first half of 2022. According to instrument flight rules, 522.006 flights were counted in the airspace of the Confederation and in the delegated areas managed by Skyguide.

In a direct comparison with the same period of the previous year, this corresponds to an increase of 156,7 percent. However, it was 17,3 percent below the volume that Skyguide had in the first half of 2019.

especially since the beginning of the summer season, reaching 90 percent of the traffic volume of 2019 (compared to the previous month) at the end of the first half of the year. 97,7 percent of all flights controlled by Skyguide were on time, which is 0,5 percentage points higher than the punctuality of the first half of 2019. The Ukraine crisis had no impact on traffic flows through Switzerland and thus resulted in neither an increase nor a decrease in traffic.
