With the A6-APG, an Airbus A380 operated by Etihad Airways joins numerous parked aircraft in Teruel, Spain. The superjumbo was transferred from Abu Dhabi earlier this week. The re-use is uncertain.

Previously, this Airbus A380 had literally run flat in the capital of the United Emirates since March 2020. Etihad has not yet officially ended the use of the superjumbos, but a possible comeback is extremely unlikely.

In March 2021, company boss Tony Douglas said that the A380 sub-fleet would continue to be parked. He also said that he no longer sees this type of aircraft in the Etihad Airways fleet. Four more super jumbos from this operator were parked in Tarbes (France). The competitor Emirates Airline wants to stick to this pattern. British Airways recently mooted the A380 fleet for maintenance.
