Golf carrier Etihad Airways is changing the Vienna concept with effect from August 1, 2022. The stopover in Milan-Malpensa, which was previously practiced on some routes, will then be omitted.

In the future, the Austrian capital will be connected non-stop five times a week – in both directions – with Abu Dhabi. When shooting was the route with a stopover in Malpensa. Most recently, two rotations on the way to Vienna had a stop at Milan's largest airport.

From August 1, 2022, Etihad Airways will operate all flights between Vienna and Abu Dhabi as non-stop flights. Furthermore, aircraft of the type Boeing 787-9 are to be used as a rule. As a result, flights from the capital of the United Arab Emirates to Milan-Malpensa no longer have to make a detour via Vienna twice a week. Furthermore, seven round trips are offered on this route.

Etihad Airways plans to fly daily between Abu Dhabi and the Austrian capital from January 1, 2023. Specifically, this means that two additional rounds will be added. On this route I am in direct competition with the low-cost airline Wizz Air, which also flies several times a week.
